Proof has finally arrived that outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had a direct hand in the events of January 6, 2021. There were always signs. Everyone felt it was pretty odd that the Speaker had a personal film crew show up to shadow her on that day. But this is the first time that we’ve had concrete evidence – in the form of texts and emails – proving that Nancy Pelosi helped to directly cause the security breakdowns that allowed the Election Justice Protest to get out of hand that day.
You may recall that Pelosi rigged the January 6 Committee from the very beginning. Pelosi kicked Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) initial picks for the committee off, and would only allow the slimiest, most treasonous, back-stabbing, Trump-hating, non-conservative fake “Republicans” imaginable onto the panel. This is what caused many Americans to rename it the “Liz Cheney Committee.”
At that time, McCarthy authorized a group of five Republicans, including those who Pelosi had booted, to keep investigating the mostly peaceful protest. The group included Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Jim Banks (R-IN), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), and Reps. Troy Nehls (R-TX). Their final report on January 6th, which is mostly appendices and footnotes, clocks in at 141 pages and was released this week.
There were a couple of shortcomings in the report. First, the five GOP congressmen had no money to conduct the investigation. Pelosi would pony up an appropriation to fund a real probe into January 6th, so the Congressmen were out-of-pocket. Second, they did not have subpoena power. No one in the FBI cooperated with them, and in most cases, they didn’t even bother trying to get any info from them. That’s a huge gap.
At any rate, many people did cooperate with them and turned over text messages and emails. Here’s some of what the report revealed.
Two important staffers of Nancy Pelosi’s were directly involved in all of the security planning for January 6th with the Capitol Police and the DC Metro Police. One of Pelosi’s staffers even edited the security plans. These meetings started in early December 2020. If you think back to that time, most Americans were furious because the 2020 election was stolen right in front of us, and every institution failed us at that time. Security at the Capitol was worried – and rightly so.
Keep in mind that Pelosi has said all along that she has “no power” when it comes to the Capitol Police force. The emails and texts shared with GOP investigators directly contradict this. The House Sergeant-at-Arms clearly deferred to Pelosi’s office when it came to things like not having the National Guard on hand, and not even beefing up police presence at the Capitol that day.
At one point, Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving handed a draft of the security plan over to Nancy Pelosi’s chief of staff – a woman named Terri McCullough. Terri McCullough has never been a police officer. She’s never served in the military. She’s never worked in security. She has a bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Cruz and used to work for the Clinton Foundation. Yet, the House Sergeant-at-Arms handed the draft security plan for January 6th over to Terri McCullough and allowed her to edit it.
It’s all very fishy, and it leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Fortunately, Republicans are about to finally have subpoena power when they take control of the House in a couple of weeks. Let’s hope they use it. This early report contains no information about the FBI’s obvious role in the event. There are no conclusions about the pipe bombs. Ray Epps is never mentioned in the report, and Ashley Babbitt is only mentioned once in an endnote. There’s a lot we still don’t know to this day, but hopefully, we will know soon.
