Law enforcement officers in California are sick and tired of having to comply with the insane wishes of a crazy Democratic governor. They are tired of having to arrest people that are being ordered released because of COVID-19. Once the criminal is let out, they immediately return to a life of crime. They prey on innocent people simply trying to make a living for themselves.
Judges are even throwing their power heavy hat into the ring and backing up the governor, and ordering the release of criminals. But this time, the officers are fighting back and telling people that they will not comply.
Such is the case with Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes. He is not going to be letting any convicts out because of the virus. A judge ordered the sheriff to release 50 percent of the inmates in Orange County. But that is not fair to the rest of the people living and abiding by the law. There is no get out of jail free card with this sheriff.
The power-hungry judge stated that “The uncontested facts found here include that conditions in the jail do not permit proper social distancing, there is no mandatory testing of staff or asymptomatic detainees after intake, and no strictly enforced policy of requiring masks for all staff interaction with inmates.”
Fear is what is driving these insane decisions by the liberals at all levels.
The sheriff went into a tirade and stated that “I refuse to release murderers and pedophiles.” These are real criminals that have abused other people, and he will not let them out because a judge wants to live the high life and act all-powerful.
One victim’s advocate named Patricia Wenskunas stated that “I am getting calls from hysterical people, thinking that their cases will come undone, or these criminals will go after them.” The victims have the right to live safely in America, and there is not a judge alive that can justify taking that away from victims.
Todd Spitzer from Orange County has stated that his “numbers indicate of the almost-2,000 inmates already released from OC jails due to COVID-19 concerns, 44% have committed other crimes, including a 23-year-old man who is accused of stabbing and killing his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend. He had been released on zero bail three weeks prior.”
The county has already reduced its inmate population by 33 percent. And nothing was said during the peak of the pandemic about letting more inmates out. And now, all of a sudden, it is a concern of a judge that is board sitting on the bench.
It should not be a surprise to anyone that the ACLU is the nasty organization behind the judge’s stupid ruling. The sheriff fired back at the ACLU lawsuit and stated that “This organization views criminal activity through rose-colored glasses while turning a blind eye to victims and the law-abiding Orange County public. For months we have fought against their ongoing attempts to release dangerous offenders into the neighborhoods of Orange County. We will not be deterred by one court ruling and will use every available legal avenue to keep these offenders out of our community.”
This sheriff is everyone’s hero. He flat out will not let a corrupt organization bought out by the corrupt Democrats tell him how to protect the people of Orange County. He will not forget his oath to serve and protect law-abiding citizens.
The sheriff has since pointed out that “Over the course of the last several months, I have made the decision to release those who have committed low-level offenses during the remaining period of their sentences. … We have approximately 700 medically vulnerable inmates remaining in our custody. This population includes 58 who are charged with murder, 39 charged with attempted murder, 69 charged with robbery, 87 charged with assault, 76 charged with domestic violence, and 94 charged with child molestation. I have considered their release and made my decision. These serious offenders must be kept in custody.”
This is just another way that the liberals are trying to control law enforcement in the United States. If they can control the enforcement side of things, they can force people to do whatever they demand them to do, which is another step towards socialism.
